Negotiated a Dismissal of Charges That Would Require Megan’s Law Registration

In a case in Greene County where our client was alleged to have possessed illegal materials on their laptop, we filed a notice of partial Alibi indicating that our client was not present at the time of some of the downloads. We were also poured through the discovery and noted the majority of the alleged material were in the form of thumbnails of images rather than full-fledged photographs, a very unusual occurrence in these types of cases. Pointing out the deficiencies in the Commonwealth’s theory of the case enabled us to resolve the case prior to trial with charges that avoided any registration under Megan’s Law.
